When it’s your first time thrifting, I can imagine it would be a bit overwhelming. You may be wondering ‘What should I do’ ‘What should I bring with me’ ‘What is allowed to do’ ‘Is it the same as regular shops?’
Good preparation contributes to a good thrifting experience!
I would like to list some stuff you need or should do to have a perfect thrifting day;
- Hand sanitizer
- Water (or at least something to drink)
- Comfy shoes (you’ll walk a lot)
- Pants/skirt to take off and on easily
- Don’t wear too many layers of clothes
- Wear clothes that you can easily roll up your sleeves (or wear something sleeveless)
- Don’t bring big bags (NOT convenient and at most thrift shops also NOT allowed)
- Bring a small bag instead but an extra bag to put the stuff/clothes in
- Know your size in EU & US
- Cash & debit/credit card (at some shops you can’t use one of them)
It is also very convenient to know what you like to have/buy. It would be less overwhelming, and you will be more focused on getting what you want.
I hope this checklist is helpful for (new) thrifters.
Let me know your experience! I look forward to reading all about it!
Happy Thrifting!
